Liam's Web Log: the Dog Days of August

Today Mommy went back to work. I got to spend the day with Daddy and my two dogs at home. Mommy seemed awfully happy to see me when she got home.

Today, I went to the racetrack for the first time. We went to see the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park Racetrack. I went with Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Sean, and Uncle Dan. Mommy wanted to see War Emblem, who won both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness. As it turns out, he won the Haskell as well. Daddy even placed a bet for me on a horse named "Whatagoodboy"; unfortunately he didn't win. I liked walking around and looking at the horses, though it made me fall asleep.

Mommy was trying to give me math lessons by explaining exactas and trifectas; I don't think I understand that yet. Maybe once I learn all my numbers. (see pictures of me at Monmouth Park)

Daddy played softball today at Princeton Consultants (where Mommy works). So I got to go watch the game and see everyone at work.

I rolled over the other way today! (from my tummy onto my back)

Mommy, Daddy, and I went to visit the Fredster today. He's a friend of Mommy and Daddy's from Rutgers College, and is in the hospital right now (Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick). He'd much rather be at a Go-Go's concert than in the hospital. I got to meet the Fredster, his wife Dot, and his mother, as well as Joyce and her husband Bob. Joyce was one of Mommy's room mates in college. I also got to charm all the nurses on the floor.

We went over to visit Grand mama and Grandpa today. It was their 37th wedding anniversary. Daddy made them a lemon meringue pie, which they did not let me eat. Grandpa did feed me my bottle though.

We went to visit the Fredster again. I was tired and so was Fredster. We both took naps. And I got to smile at everyone I met in the hallway. Fredster was happy because one of the Go-Go's had posted a message on his get-well thread on the Internet. Then we went to Grand mama and Grandpa's house so that Mommy and Daddy could lift weights while I played with Grand mama.

Today, we went to visit the Rowlands -- Chris, Joyce, Jenny, Jen (age 6), and Kels (age 4). They live in Browns Mills, NJ. There are all sorts of interesting things to see on the ride there: we get to ride through the Trenton tunnel, past the baseball stadium, past lots of horses, and past the firing ranges and stuff near Fort Dix. Jen even fed me one of my bottles today.

I discovered my toes today! I am having great fun grabbing my feet and toes. This is even better than grabbing the legs on my pants. The only problem is that it makes it harder to kick everything if I am holding onto my foot.
