Ruben was a wonderful family pet who is unfortunately no longer with us.  We miss his exuberance and enthusiastic welcomes.

Ruben came to us courtesy of the Trenton Animal Shelter, through the Friends of Homeless Animals and PetsMart, again. (We finally swore off going on weekends, when they have adoptable dogs and things there.) He was officially listed as a "Pit Bull Mix" -- available evidence suggests a pit bull and another pit bull were in the mix. He is many things you would expect from a pit bull -- strong, stubborn, clumsy, and exuberant. He is also some things you might not: friendly, playful, and a willing second fiddle to Akbar in the house. Though he can't resist messing with Akbar's hoard.
